• I just hooked up through my TV but turned off my TV speakers so it goes through the Bose Speakers

• Connect your DVD Player to your TV via an HDMI cable. That should solve your problem.

• I have mine hooked up with an optical cable to the tv and i don't have any issues. Dvd is connected to the tv with HDMI.
