“I want to connect 2 sets of wired speakers to this amp. One set of speakers is 8 ohms and the other set is 6 ohms. I know Bose "recommends" a minimum of 8 ohms, however will a set of 8 ohm and 6 ohm speakers work? What is the concern with this pairing?”

You are welcome to try a set of 8-ohm and a set of 6-ohm speakers. However, please be advised that - depending on the volume you use your speakers at - if the speaker impedance is too low, the amplifier might strain to deliver its usual performance, leading to distortion or damage.
