Unfortunately there is no fix. It is a bose defect. I reached out to bose customer service and they offered me a replacement product but the quality was the same. I've read multiple forums and sadly everyone has experienced the low call volume/quality with these headphones. Such a shame that the call quality doesn't match the music quality, especially for the price.
