• The QC30 does not do a great job of canceling out conversations. QC20 is much better, and QC35 is even better at doing so.

• I think they would cancel that noise. When ANR is a max, I was able to completely mute my car's radio (at normal listening volume) and road noise. It was impressive. i did not notice any 'bleed'.

• They do a great job of canceling out noise and sounds, but if you would like to have a conversation with someone while on the train it is unlikely they will be able to hear you.

• I don't know about train noise but they will drown out a really loud speaker about 10 feet away playing music.
