It helps having it connected to Wi-Fi at least to update the firmware on the soundbar and to go through the adaptiq process which makes the soundbar perfect for your room. Once you have those two things done, you don’t HAVE to have it connected to Wi-Fi but if you want to control it from your phone or use other features such as dialogue mode then you’ll need it connected to Wi-Fi to use that feature along with many others.
