“Will the ceiling firing speakers work with any type of sound setup ie: 5.1,7.1 etc. or will they only fire when Dolby Atmos is detected?”

• There is mixing happening within the unit. So even playing 2 channel audio the upfiring speakers will output audio.

• I do believe they will still fire off the downsampled stereo. The only speakers that stop firing are the side speakers if you add a pair of rear channel speakers to the surround setup.
