Andrew has it correct. I called Bose and they confirmed. If you look really close at the instruction drawing you can see the extra lines of the rubber strip. I asked the support person to see about adding this to their instructions.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Hey I'd like to try to answer your question, even though I'm a few weeks late and I'm not 100% if this is the accurate answer. I've been looking for an answer for a couple of hours and I found some different instructions in a PDF file that did not come with my Bose Mount. These instructions show small little (what may be) foam pads, as it doesnt show a foam strip. I assume that the foam strip goes where these small circular images go. (The bottom horizontal support.) I will include a screenshot that I took and maybe a picture after I stick it on. It makes sense to put it there, to prevent metal-on-metal vibration, and my speaker slightly hangs down and is somewhat not snug. It is the official Bose mount, and works fine, but I'm hoping by placing this strip here will perfect the design like intended. Bose needs to do a better job with instructing where to put this in future installation manuals. **I just installed it, it's where it needs to be and intended to be installed. Keeps my speaker snug now.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It is for anti resonance I stick it to the lowest line of wall mount and it stopped resonate
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It is a buffer so the soundbar doesn't rub against the mount and get scratched. It is optional.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Thank you for the confirmation in regards to my answer being accurate. Also I appreciate you spending time to call Bose. On a slightly-related, separate matter: Is there any sort of way, through the Best Buy Android app, to set notifications for when there are responses to questions and/or answers that I participated in? If anyone knows of a way, could you let me know? I'm not trying to create a complete separate topic thread, I'm just looking for an answer that would help me for future comments. It just so happened to cross my mind a few minutes ago to come back here and check to see if my answer had posted, and if there were any replies. Suprisingly, I remembered to come back here to check. I almost forgot that I posted a comment on here a few weeks back. I'm assuming that maybe I need to be logged in as a member, rather than just typing in my name in the "nickname" box when I post comments? This is the first time I've ever publicly responded to a question before. I figured that I didn't have any reason not to spend a few mins typing an answer, since I felt 95% certain of how to install this product properly, and maybe I could help others out there with the same product and confusion as me. There isn't much information on the internet about this little rubber adhesive strip, so it's always nice to have information about something you search for. I'm glad that I could contribute and help others out there! Thanks again for responding! Enjoy your Bose products everyone. I know that I sure am!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Exactly my experience. I was left to assume it would cover the screws if you wanted to do that. But with the Sound strip in place, that would be redundant. Unless it was some kind of temporary strip to hold the mount in place while you drill. Again, ineffective. I did learn that the space between the screws and the slot made it almost impossible to line up level. There is play that allowed it to slide out of level after mounting, even after putting a level on the bracket and insuring it was straight. Good luck.
