“Can two of these only connect to each other by wifi and not Bluetooth ?”

Thank you for asking. We understand that there can be confusion with the two different types of wireless technologies with SoundTouch. The devices require a home wifi network to talk to each other and play music in sync. However, as far as connectivity to your audio device (cell phone/tablet), you can stream your apps through Bluetooth. The device will pair to the closer of the two speakers and the first speaker will rebroadcast the audio signal to the second speaker over wifi.
