“I already set up my bose through wifi and Bluetooth and it was successful but reading the specs says that it has built in wifi. What is the use of the built in wifi? Can I use pandora without my phone ? Im confused”

You can play all of the apps like Pandora or Amazon music plus internet radio using your phone. But you can do much more such as adjust the volume of the sound bar or the Surround speakers. It is also used to update the software of the soundbar which is important to make everything work right that was complained about on the blogs and reviews. I use the bluetooth only to play the songs on my phone (and of course to connect all of the speakers) Hope this helps.

Let me clarify - the built-in WiFi in the Soundtouch 300 SoundBar purpose is to allow you to be able to connect your SoundBar to your home WiFi network so you can pair it with other WiFi-enabled speakers and access other functions.
