“I have an older Sony receiver with 4 hardwired speakers and subwoofer. We just purchased a Bose Soundbar 300. Would this Wireless Link Adapter allow me to connect them all together for TV surround sound? I'm not interested in the music streaming. Tks!”

Hi, thanks for the great question. That would not work. The wireless link adapter will not allow you to bridge between the SoundBar 300 and your old Sony Reciever.
