“Why doesn't the inline work with Android? These seem to be very comfortable and I would like to buy them to use with my phone (NOT an iPhone) as well as my iPod. Will a version that is compatible with Android and/or Windows phones be available in the future?”

Thank you for your question. While the volume controls are compatible only with certain Apple devices, the microphone and answer/end button are compatible with most smart phones. We hope this helps.

Please try again later.Bose is great about making products for both iOS and Android. make sure you check online at BestBuy.com for extended product availability. also, consider which version is more practical for you. whichever platform you need the in-line remote to work for primarily is the one you should buy. it won't fully work with both. volume control is pretty universal, but triggering voice commands is usually what you lose with in-line remotes. Bluetooth tends to be more versatile, especially if it's the new 4.0 products.
