• Absolutely! I have to read lips, when someone talks to me. They do not realize I have my phones on. Literally, sound is blocked from my ears.

• I have slept with them on before, and had no problems. They blocked out the sound of howling wind nicely. I would not recommend doing all the time as it might shorten the life span of the cord. I also have cats, so I have to be careful of cords on me at night.

• Yes! I do not think they are marketed for noise reduction but I can have mine on very low and not hear someone talking to me.
