No you need a amp to power them the ipod cant do it and they are desinged to mount in the wall or ceiling but with enough determination anything is possible!!

The 191 speakers are not self-powered, they require a receiver or amplifier to power them. The 191 speakers are compatible with receivers or amplifiers rated between 10 to 100 watts at 4 to 8 ohms each. You would then connect your iPod directly to the receiver. We hope this helps. Thanks!
