- Answer This item comes with a power switch, so it shouldn't drain your battery. I hooked mine straight to the battery, and I turn them off when I'm not riding.

- Answer No, theses speakers have their own discrete amp built into one of the speakers. These are active speakers . You want passive speaker pods.

- Answer Yes, it's easy to hear. I angled them towards my face when mounting, since I don't have a fairing, so I have to deal with wind noise.
