• Hi Ryguy, The M1 can be used vertically like you see it in photos, or horizontally as a center channel. No additional accessories are needed for either approach. Bonus round- you can also mount it to the wall using supplied accessories.

• I’ve never had a problem with mixing speakers in a surround system. Having a decent receiver to match signals and impedance levels is important. Although these will work as a center, I’d bite the bullet and spend more for a larger speaker for center channel. It’s the most important speaker in a surround system.
