• A:Answer Formation Duo has no physical inputs. The only way they can receive a source is wirelessly. If you have an Apple TV you can use Airplay 2 to send the sound to Duo and the video to your Sony TV set. Alternately, you could attach an optical output from your TV to a Formation Audio, and then wirelessly stream your TV sound to Duo. However, you may end up with lip-synch delays.

Q: QuestionMay I connect my MAC 6200 to this unit to send CD and Vinyl Music to wireless speakers. Also, does this unit directly access HD Radio and send to Pre Amps and Amps or must you use a Smart Phone. Thank you.

• A:Answer Formation Audio uses the Bowers & Wilkins Music App for control and to access streaming services. Any streaming services that are natively supported by Formation (and our Music App by extension of that) pull music directly from that streaming service. Your smart phone would just be used for selecting which piece of music you want to hear. The one exception is Spotify Connect. Formation supports Spotify connect and you would use the Spotify App. The only time your phone is used to stream music to Formation is if you use Bluetooth or Airplay.

• A:Answer Yes. Just connect the line out connection from the Formation Audio unit to the AUX, DAT, or Tuner input on your Marantz. Do NOT adjust the volume level with the iOS device, because it will cause the Formation Audio unit to pause playback after a few minutes. Control the volume with the PreAmp/Amp unit only.

• A:Answer Yes, you can use Formation Audio to supply music to your distributed audio system. You would need 1 Formation Audio for every unique zone your home. A unique zone plays audio content that is different from other zones in your home. If you want all zones to play the same audio feed, you would need only one Formation Audio.

Q: QuestionI want to use this to stream to my McIntosh preamp AND to my Formation Duo speakers downstairs. * Can I select the source for my Duo's via the app? * Can I locate this component in a cabinet below my McIntosh stereo system? Thanx!

• A:Answer You can use the Formation audio to simultaneously stream to your Duos whatever you have chosen to output to your preamplifier. The inputs on the Audio are digital (toslink) analog and network. Any of these three can be shared in the manner than you have described. Placement- you can locate your Formation Audio in your cabinet. As with any wireless product, how well it works depends on what your cabinet is made of. That said, the wireless capabilities of Formation Audio are very robust and there is also an Ethernet connection.

• A:Answer Yes, I have done so in my home. The Formation Soundbar will allow up to a full 5.1 surround configuration connected in its setup (addition of the Formation Bass and a pair of Formation Flex as surround speakers). The software will make sure all of them are in sync.
