To my knowledge, the AutoGrip Magnetic mount will still require you to install the metal magnet disk to the back of your device even if you have the MagSafe feature on your iPhone. This is because the MagSafe feature is designed to be compatible only with specific mounts, just as the magnetic disk for this mount is specifically designed to be compatible with the AutoGrip. • Yes you still need to install the magnet on the back of your phone even if you have the mag safe in the iPhone 12. It is a very weak connection without it.
