I would not. I would not want it to fade. Better safe than sorry.

I think from what I read and understand that the sensors lock on the skin before triggering the flash. How it works is the dark hair absorbs the heat and transfers it to the root effectively killing it in a few sittings. Since the tattoo area is dark it may not be very effective as the dark skin will absorb the heat. Additionally, the manufacturer recommends it be used on light skin. So, I believe it may not well for you on tattoo. I would still recommend more research to confirm my claim :)
