I have only owned and used the Barista Express for a few weeks, but from my own personal experience I do not think it would make a good machine for a coffee shop. Also, the warranty specifically states it is not covered if used in a commercial setting such as an office, hotel, etc.

Please try again later.I would say no... it takes too long for the steam wand to heat up for every cup and it is not nearly as fast as a commercial one used in coffee shops. Also the reservoir for water would have to be constantly filled in a commercial setting. I make probably 3-4 cups a day and it works perfect for my use. Hope this helps.
