QuestionI have purchased Breville smart oven air fryer model BOV86OBSS1B. The heating elements are not protected. Am I suppose to let stuff like oil, crumbs, flour drip on heating elements?

- Answer When cooking fatty food (e.g. chicken wings) we recommend using the grilling rack (placed in the roasting pan) instead of the air fry basket to prevent the oil dripping. Discard excess oil in between the batches.

- Answer There will be a high amount of heat emanated from the toaster oven. If you're surface is heat-resistant/tolerant, then you can place the oven on it.

QuestionIs there any way to turn the ridiculously loud beep sound volume down? Both the beef to notify the preheat temp has been reached, and the beep when timer is done are so loud it wakes anyone in the house so I can’t use it when someone is sleeping. Help!

QuestionI was using the oven at 450 degrees when it shut down not getting power. Is there a reset switch?

- Answer There is no reset for the BOV860. Please try the old tried and true unplugging and plugging into another circuit (not just another outlet on the same circuit). To ensure it's another circuit, you may need to move it to another room. This is just for this test, and not meant as a permanent move. This can reset them. QuestionIs this PTFE free? The answer has been given that it is PFOA free, but nothing in regards to PTFE.

- Answer I read in a previous post from last year that Breville products in general are not PTFE free, but none of their ovens heat to 600 degrees where the PTFE could start to break down. I think that point is about 620 degrees. I bought the oven and aside from that one concern, it is incredible from a cooking perspective.

- Answer It is not recommended that extension cords be used with the Breville® BOV860 Smart Oven® Air Fryer as the oven can utilize up to 1800watts and up to 15 amps while in operation.
