- Answer It is best to clean the heating elements of the Breville® BOV900 Smart Oven® Air Fryer Pro with a soft, barely damp cloth that has a gentle grease cutting detergent added. It should be wiped completely clean and allowed to dry thoroughly before next use.

QuestionDoes this have settings to defrost frozen food and to reheat leftovers?

- Answer It doesn't have an exclusive defrost only function. What it does have is a setting for frozen items that automatically adds time to cook a frozen food. This is not a microwave oven. It cooks like a traditional element heated convection oven.

- Answer The manual does not say that the accessories (such as the fryer basket) are not dishwasher safe. What it does recommend is that, to extend the life of such accessories, they should be washed by hand in warm soapy water.

- Answer Depending on the moisture content of the food being cooked, the Smart Oven Air Fryer Pro will emit steam and high heat. Grease can be emitted with the steam. It would be advisable to use a silicone mat under the oven to help protect your wood surface.

QuestionI just bought the 845BSS and upon inserting the crumb tray, it seems as though the oven door does not fully open. Does the crumb tray need to be inserted for all functions?

- Answer Yes, it is quite easy to clean. I am quite diligent about cleaning the unit as soon as possible after use and not waiting until the grease is baked in. Keep in mind that the oven is hot! Follow manufacturer's instruction on how to clean, like not spraying cleaner to the surface of oven, use a sponge instead and not touching the quartz heating elements. You'll be fine.

QuestionHi! Can this oven bake at 500d comfortably? My husband makes fresh pizza and we need an oven that can bake at that temperature. Thanks!

- Answer Hello, Edie. The highest temperature the pizza dial goes is 480 degrees. Since it's not too far off from the 500 degrees that your husband wants, you can still use the 480 degrees for about ten minutes longer, depending on how many toppings there are. Meats could be par-cooked to shorten cooking time, although it's not necessary. No toppings equal less cooking time, of course. For the first time, watch the pizza to check when it's done and get the cooking time right. Thereafter, the dial is automatically set for the cooking time, so you don't have to remember. So clever! I hope this helps. Enjoy your fresh pizza!

- Answer Yes, The oven is not insulated, therefore it heats up on the outside "a lot". We have it sitting on a side-board with several inches of open space on all sides. I would not store paper or anything flammable next to it. It does an excellent job both as a toaster oven, broiled and small oven for 2-3 people. I would highly recommend it.

QuestionAre the knobs sturdy? Do they feel solid and made well? One of the biggest flaws I know of with most small electrical appliances seems to be cheap plastic knobs that crack and finding replacement parts is very difficult if not impossible.

- Answer My BOV900BSS is working well. I feel it is well made. Have had mine since before just before Thanksgiving. My big oven had stopped working, the replacement part won't be available until after Thanksgiving. I cooked a turkey (11 lbs) in this oven. Even after the big oven is fixed, still using the BOV900BSS for smaller items. If you could visit your local BestBuy to get your hands on one to see for yourself

- Answer I'd be careful. The manual recommends minimum clearances on all sides and top. It DOES emit a lot of heat, especially on top. If you can't maintain at least 6" from the top of the appliance to the next shelf or top of cabinet, I'd be concerned.

- Answer Sublimation is the process of turning a solid into a gas without going through a liquid state as I remember chemistry class. So I would say no. It proofs dough to rise before baking and it will dehydrate food.

- Answer Absolutely perfect AIR FRYER, Convection Oven, Baker, Roaster, Pizza, Taster, Re-heat. Etc. When you turn the cooking knob, the display shows Air Fryer and Convection. This DOES have the air fryer feature. I would never have bought it without it. I had previously bought 2 other air fryers and this is so far superior to them, it’s crazy! This has EVERY bell and whistle I was looking for! In one week, I have air fried and convectioned a pot roast with roasted potatoes & veggies as well as a small turkey for Thanksgiving. They came out absolutely perfect! In 1 1/2 hours tops I had the juiciest most perfectly fall off the bone, tender, melt in your mouth meat you could ever hope to get! I got it each time! I adore this oven now and I also know now WHY all those thousands of 5 star ratings! This is so well constructed and solid and it looks beautiful too! This will last me for many years. I’m so very glad I bought this!
