Does the sacnner require or need ink to work?? null

The Brother ADS1200 does not require ink to work.

I don't know, have not had it very long. However, it must have an ink supply of some kind somewhere. I know I had a previous Fujitsu ScanSnap that I loved for years, never had to worry about any ink. The roller is the problem after years of use. Another problem is being able to update to new computer operating systems. Fujitsu quit updating the ScanSnap. I hope Brother keeps up with the Mac OS changes.
