There is a control panel for scanning that gives you options about what you are scanning. You can select the "email" button and it will scan as usual asking for a folder. After you give a location for the scan, the scan will initiate and then your email program will open with that file already added as an attachment. You simply provide the email address and/or any comments in the body of the email, and send like a normal email. This is quite handy!

I scan to my computer. It saves it as a file. Then I attach the file to an email. I have been scanning 50+ pages at a time and its very easy.

Yes, I have been able to scan & attach documents to my outlook account emails. I don't know if it will work with another email account. I haven't had it for too long, so haven't really tried. Best part is that is was very easy! Good luck, hope this helps!
