“Do this scanner and accompanying software produce searchable pdfs?”

• I just tested this (after Best Buy emailed to ask on your behalf) and mine is not searchable, HOWEVER I have only scanned student papers that were heavily marked up. I did not scan plain typed documents. I will say I am really happy with it: good quality, easy to use, super portable.

• Yes, the Brother DS-640 scanner is able to create searchable PDF files using the included Brother iPrint&Scan software.
