• The Brother HLL2305W will only connect to the 2.4 GHz wireless band. The Brother machine will not see or connect to the 5 GHz band of your router.

• You are probably confusing the move from 4g to 5g. This is for cell phone service and has nothing to do with the 2.4g vs 5g Wifi frequencies. Virtually all current routers with WiFi support both 2.4g & 5g. 2.4g is actually better for some situations.
