The Brother MFC-J1010DW is a great option for printing photos. We recommend using photo paper specifically designed for inkjet machines for best results. This machine is designed to stop all printing operations when any of the ink cartridges are low. This is to ensure the life of the print head and maintain premium print quality. If the unit were to continue printing, print jobs and cleaning cycles would suck air from the empty cartridge and damage the print head.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.It does print good reproduced photos from copier, even on regular paper. I’m assuming it would look even better if using an appropriate paper. I believe it will print in black and white even if others are low as you can select to print documents in just black and white.
