• built in battery. it comes with a charger but not a cube to plug into the wall. it is a usbc plug on both ends, not a typical usb

• It comes with its own cable but you made need to buy another charging unit and longer cable to use the device while using the iPad depending on your usage. And it charges separately from the iPad

• Mine had a built in battery and you charge it with a usb-c cable. I use a A/c adapter but I think the ipad can charge it as well.
