built in battery. it comes with a charger but not a cube to plug into the wall. it is a usbc plug on both ends, not a typical usb

It comes with its own cable but you made need to buy another charging unit and longer cable to use the device while using the iPad depending on your usage. And it charges separately from the iPad

Mine had a built in battery and you charge it with a usb-c cable. I use a A/c adapter but I think the ipad can charge it as well.

It has a built in battery. It comes with a charger cord that I use to charge the iPad as well.

Built in battery. Lasts quite a while if you don't use the backlighting constantly
