QuestionI’d like to use this in a floor lamp in the middle of a room. Do I have to use the remote switch? Or can I still use the on/off switch that’s hardwired into the floor lamp?

Once the devices are connected into the Cync Application that require a WIFI connection, it will stay connected to WIFI to allow for out of home control and will need to stay connected for that reason. If the device doesn't prompt you for your WIFI during the commissioning process, then it is not being connected to the WIFI at all. QuestionDoes the light bulb require a wired light source?

QuestionWe wired a light fixture to a junction box originally planned for a smoke detector, so there is no on/off switch. The light is on. Will this work as a switch to turn it off and back on?
