Question- I saw that there's a way to activate a exhaust hood when stove top is turned on. How is this done? Does this require a specific hood/other? - Is there matching gold/gold-white hoods or recommendation? - What electric service (amps/wire size) required?

- Answer Hi there - Great question! Ranges with Chef Connect can be synced (paired) with any hood or over-the-range microwave that also has Chef Connect. This feature allows you to synchronize the clocks on both the range and microwave or hood, as well as the cooktop burners with the microwave or hood's vent fan and light. Both the range and hood must have the Chef Connect feature. There aren't any special electrical services or wiring needed as this is a Bluetooth® pairing feature between Chef Connect enabled products, and does not require a WiFi connection or smartphone. We currently do not offer a gold hood, however, we do have stainless steel, matte white and matte black available. We hope this helps. QuestionI have a 2 part question: Are the sides of the matte white range also white, or a different color? Secondly, is it unsafe to use this stove in a kitchen that is unable to have a vent installed (old home built in 1887).

It is not possible to determine the type of facilities each consumer has available or what the local electrical codes require (ex. 3-wire vs 4-wire). QuestionAre silver handles/knobs not included as an option with the white Cafe Induction range? Do we have to order an additional handle/knob kit for $600? What would we do with the gold ones? This makes little sense, especially for a unit costing over $4,000

- Answer I see Cafe didn't answer "what do I do with the Gold set of knobs?" Why spend an additional 600 and then have two sets of knobs when they could just easily offer an option of color at purchase. I am sure it cost them the same no matter what color. I just ordered a different brand.

QuestionI took a pan out of the oven and set it on top. While cleaning after use I noticed paint peeling off the top in front of the cooktop. I am concerned how a range this expensive can scratch so easily. Should I return for stainless one?

- Answer Hi Bill, Our Matte finishes are a highly engineered paint on metal (steel). We recommend that the interior and exterior Matte finish surfaces be treated similar to high-end coatings on automobiles. The Matte White and Matte Black finishes are not engineered for use with soap-filled scouring pads, abrasive cleaners any cleaning product containing chlorine bleach and/or abrasive cloths and paper towels. Use of these types of products may scratch and/or dull the Matte White and Matte Black finish. We recommended using a soft, clean cloth or a microfiber cloth.
