Hello - Thanks for reaching out to us. You wouldn't need to purchase a separate kick plate for this range. We recommend that you take a look at pg. 2 of the Installation Instructions for the tools and materials you may need for installation. Also, please review the "Dimensions and Clearances" section on pg. 3 of the "Installation Instructions" for the required space that is needed to properly install this unit.
