QuestionThe grinder will not stop grinding beans until the whole hopper is empty. Even when I only press the grind button once this happens so I end up with a whole mound of ground coffee. I cannot stop the grinder even if the machine is shut off. Any solutions?

- Answer The grinder will not stop even if I press the grind button again to try to stop it. If I turn off the machine, the grind keeps going. The single shot is set for the lowest 9 seconds.

QuestionWhy does the Bellissimo only take 10 seconds to pull a shot where most websites say it should take 20-30 seconds? How big of a basket can this machine accept? I thinking of getting a 20 g basket for it?

- Answer Hello - Time is recorded from when the function starts to when espresso stops dispensing into cup. If time is below range, use a finer setting or larger water volume. If time is above range, use a coarser setting or lesser water volume. We don't offer other container sizes, and we only recommend using the container that comes with the unit. QuestionThe grinder is completely clean but the grinder light will not turn off so grinder will not work. Its not recognizing the hopper is on. What's wrong with it?

QuestionHello, is there a way to adjust the alignment of the grinder? Mine grinds off center and when grinding a double shot it makes a mess because of this. Thank you

- Answer I had this problem and wondered the same thing. But I found that I was using a dryer bean and so I had to adjust the coarseness of the grind in order for the spraying to stop. Once I got the ideal pressure for the bean that I was using, it was a lot less messy to grind. I hope this helps you.

QuestionCan we use heavy whipping cream in the milk frother?

- Answer Hi! Thanks for asking. We have not tested using heavy whipping cream and can’t speak to how well it may or may not work. It is not designed for heavy cream. If you decide to test it, we would certainly advise to err on the side of caution (as always with frothing), in case the heavy nature results in different air bubbles that could splatter. We'd also recommend you wash the frother with hot water thoroughly after usage to remove any residues of the heavy cream. Hope this is helpful! All the best. -Michael@Cafe

QuestionDoes the machine automatically pull the correct amount of water needed for the espresso? The machine I have now, you have to manually start/stop the water once the desired amount is reached. I'm looking for one that stops once the shot is brewed.

- Answer Yes, You can set the desired amount in the app and it will dispense that much every time unless you change it.

QuestionIs the quality of the froth the same as the latte you would get in a coffee shop?

- Answer Frothing milk is very variable based on the type of milk used (whole, 2%, etc) and also the actual steam wand of the machine and even the skill level of the person using the machine. You can add too much air into the milk and it would be too foamy or frothy. You can also steam it too long which would result in scalded milk and that could affect the texture. So basically the quality of the froth is dependent on several factors; it could even vary from different coffee shops too. Good luck and hope this helped.

QuestionAre you planning on recalling this machine or replacing the grinder since so many of the machines have issues? If not, what is your plan? I’d be interested in one at this price point but only if there is a fix being planned.

- Answer I would also like to note to prospective buyers that the grinder IS a problem. The one I currently have only lasted a week. I used the recommended 9 setting for the first five days and slowly adjusted it down to 7. I still had problems. The grinder is creating a thick base of fine powder at the bottom that clogs not only the grinder, but the tunnel where it outputs into the portafilter. Just spent three hours deep cleaning to get it back to working condition. I do not want to do this every week, so I’d really like to see Cafe come out with a fix for this very expensive machine.

QuestionI bought this a month ago and it’s already not working…for almost $700 it should last awhile. I’ve cleaned it and done everything it says to do but it won’t grind the coffee beans. How do I make it work?

- Answer The grinder will shut off if something gets stuck in it which can occur for various reasons, e.g. the grind setting is too fine for the grade or size of the bean. All you have to do is adjust the grind setting to a larger one by rotating the bean hopper counterclockwise slightly and tapping it to clear the issue. That’s all you have to do.

- Answer Hi there, thanks for taking the time to ask! The pressure is a function of user input, like grind size, coffee amount, etc. You're in control of the brew pressure, not the appliance. With proper choice of shot parameters the espresso machine will brew at traditional 9-11 Bars. The pressure is not able to be adjusted via the app. We hope this is helpful! Best wishes. -Michael@Cafe
