• #4 cone style paper filters come with. Tried two different permanent filters from previous units. Neither seated properly to allow the filter holder to close.

• It uses #4 cone filters. My old coffee maker had a permanent filter. But, I have come to like putting unbleached filters in As there are no grounds or Remnants of coffee in the cup

• I am uncertain of the exact measurements but I use the Melitta Natural Brown #4 Coffee Filter. This fits snuggly top to bottom to cover all surfaces of the coffee filter holder.
