Yes. As a reference the f/ number if it is lower will usually do exceptionally well in low light. This one is a f/2.8, it is excellent. The EF-S 50mm has an f/1.8 and that one for sure works great in low light.

Yes. I have used it in almost no light settings and the pics always look great!
