Depends on what lens you current have, also your style of photography. I was a Sony person but switched to canon and never looked back but I have never used a mirror less camera so I could not tell you which is better. Best to do more research and look at the pros & Cons for both cameras
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I know this is an old question, but there are still people (like me) who are going through this exact scenario. I went from a 5Dii to a Sony 6400, then to a Sony a7rii. I instantly fell in love with the a7rii and thought really hard about selling all my Canon gear. I still have my 5d1 and 5D2, and some L glass. I bought similar lenses for the Sony too. The Sony, at 42mp's will give some stunning images for sure. That resolution is really nice to work with. the video is absolutely amazing. I put my Canon 70-200ISii on the Sony, and found the images to be the sharpest I've ever gotten. It put a Sony 70-200f4 on the a7rii and, though the images were really clean and sharp, they didn't give the 'wow' factor I got with the Canon lens. An even bigger issue was that I didn't enjoy shooting with the a7rii. It doesn't fit my hands well at all, even with a battery grip. But when I pick up the 5D, it's hefty, and fits perfectly in my hands. Having said all of that, I'm selling all of my Sony gear, and going back to (staying with) Canon. Hope that helps.
