It is made in a foreign county BUT it is an American camera. The ones that are made in a foreign county and are the international models do not carry the Canon warranty. Same thing with the lenses. A lot of people in the internet are selling the international models as American models and the warranty on those will have to be thru the seller not Canon. They sell the cameras and the lenses a little cheaper than the American model.
