“Can I take wide-angle pictures with the lenses included, or is that really based on operator know how (in other words, I don’t have the know how but could learn!) Or would I buy an additional lens for that purpose? Thanks for answering a newbie question!”

I don't believe so. It has a regular lens 18 to 55mm for normal range photography and a zoom lens for 18 to 250mm range. Wide angle lens is not included and should be bought separately if needed.

Please try again later.If you want to take beautiful expansive pictures of landscapes, like all of Yosemite valley in one frame for instance, or most of a room indoors, like a realtor would take, then the answer is No.. you would need to use a wider lens in the 10-12 mm range to get those kinds of pictures. However, these lens will take great pictures of about 90% of everything you would want to photograph. thing is, you can purchase the wide angle lens at a later date as you get better and learn more about photography.. in the meantime, use your feet and move backwards to get more subject in your photo. Just watch your step going backwards. This is a great camera to learn with!
