I just learned how to since I'm new to scanning. The answer is yes. There are 2 ways. Place your document onto the glass. Close top of printer. 1. Then insert the USB drive into an insert opening on the front left side of the printer. Press on the Home icon on the display, press on Scan, then you will get a choice of where to scan document to, Oress on USB memory. Press Start 2. Scan the document to the computer. Go to downloads or Adobe Acrobat files. You will see img.some #'s,pdf Open ,pdf to verify or orient the document & then rename to something you recognize. Copy file to USB drive you have already inserted into your computer {or drag & drop) and, its on your USB drive. It's a really great printer that has so many great features that I am exploring myself. I highly recommend it.
