It can scan to a maximum of 600 dpi into JPEG, PDF, TIFF. You must set those in the MF Scan Utility that you loaded onto your PC with the CD drivers or updated from the Canon driver site. You'll likely have to restart your PC after updating preference settings so that the printer can SEE your PC on the WiFi. Note the printer comes with Default settings for Scan on the printer menu. Defaults are Color, Black & White, Custom 1 and Custom 2. The only one that is defaulted to 600 dpi is Color. This is why you'll want to change the defaults as described above. This printer does NOT scan higher than 600 dpi. So although you can pick High Resolution in the scan settings, it will never equal 1200 dpi available on most ink jet photo printers.
