“I has shelf above where printer will sit. Does paper LOAD from front?”

You can load paper in the back or you can come from the paper tray underneath it, so your shelf should be fine if you print from the bottom tray

Yes, it has a front paper tray. There is an optional back feed as well.

It front loads for documents. There is a slot top rear for photos.

Yes. The paper can load from the front in a tray that slides out and you can also load paper thru a loader on the top. The loader on the top is more for loading photo paper and the like.
