“Flash on, not auto I recently purchased the Canon PowerShot Elph 350 HS to replace my much older Canon PowerShot SD870 IS. I was looking for more megapixels and sharper photos. Can you turn the flash ON manually as needed? I can only get auto and off. Sometimes the subject in front of me has gorgeous scenery behind, but I can barely make out the person without a flash on. It was easy to do with the SD870 but we can't seem to do it on the new 350 and the manual doesn't mention anything about it, either. I will be sending this camera back if the answer is NO. Please help with an answer here.”

• Yes you can do it, in the advanced menu. This frustrated me also, till I figured it out. Agree that "OFF", "ON" and "AUTO" would make the most sense. I almost sent it back. They should have made this easier.

• On the back button you should see a lightning with arrow pointing down. Hit that and on screen you can move it to on and off
