- Kurt, you'll have to go to Canon, or other authority, for the specs. I own a PowerShot 510 HS, and have gotten GREAT results. I have used it in winter, but only hand-held, and I KEEP THE CAMERA, & A COUPLE BATTERIES UNDER MY COAT, to stay warm. The relatively large diameter of the lens (low f / ratio ) produces good images, even at long-telephoto, hand-held. The "Users Guide", however, does not give a table of specs. I do know that almost all "consumer level" digital cameras have "normal" Temp. specs. that say "+120 F to +32 F"... that - is, down to freezing (for extended times). Any batteries, especially re-chargable, have power-output that drops-off dramatically at about +32 F, = 0 C (freezing-point of water). That doesn't stop you from keeping the camera under your coat, until use, during winter conditions... Keep a couple extra batteries in your pocket, staying warm, would work, too. I don't know how the "all weather" cameras [e.g. Go-Pro, etc ] conserve battery power, likewise "recording" cameras ( motion-sensing, or 1 shot / 15 min.) ... ?? Canon should be able to provide you with the specific Temp specs. you need, though. Good Luck to you... - Mark, Michigan, USA ; 15 JUNE 16 -
