What size is the thread on the lens to add a UV filter? null

Actually you can use a 58mm UV filter but it requires an adapter to convert the lens to a standard thread (Canon P/N: FA-DC67A, Amazon for < $10.00).

Unfortunately, a UV filter cannot be used on this camera.
