• This is designed for the new R6 and R5 model Canon cameras and the ISM works with in in body IS so it gives you up to 7 f stops with the combined system that you don’t get with an adapted lens.

• Yea it is. I’ve used the EF lens professionally. And I am really glad I upgraded. You can sell the EF to help pay for it. (Don’t trade it in, you won’t get anything for it.)

• The RF is very sharp, and has great stabilization paired with an R6/R5. Also the portability is better, so just keep that in mind. If portability is important it may be a good upgrade.
