You can research this if you like. However the short answer is the new ink cartridges print more photos per cartridge. The paper is the same and the paper cassette should not be overloaded or damage the printer. The old ink cartridges will work in the new printer as will the old paper. Ink capacity is the only difference. Do not use high capacity ink in the old printers. It should not fit or work.
