Video is stored to a SD card. The camcorder can support two SD cards at one time. When the cards are full you can save the cards for future use. If you want to transfer the video from the cards to your PC, you can do that. You can reuse the cards as much as needed. Not sure about plugging it into PC and recording to PC direct through camera. Never tried it.
