• The Apple Store one they carry is silicon based. It's lightweight and serves the purpose of protecting the phone.

• I believe the Apple bumper case is the lightest. You can add a skin to provide some protection to the back.

• I don't buy for it to be light, I buy for the protection. Go for an Otter Box it my be the best item you ever bought for your iPhone.
