Q: QuestionWhat kind of batteries are needed and is there an alternate AC power option? I want to use this out in the country away from home and want to be sure it will work for a couple of hours.

- A:Answer 8 user supplied AA alkaline batteries are required, or you can use an external Celestron PowerTank Lithium battery.
