• It plugs in, not battery. I have mine magnetic attached to closer on the bottom and plugged in the ceiling outlet with the closer.

• For the camera and the garage door opener, they are both plug-in to power outlet so no battery.

• Depending on use it should last six months or longer. Changing the battery is pretty easy, but keep the direction to make sure you know what is the top and how to slip off the cover.
