Yes! Its perfect for boiling water. Just pour in your water and press the on/off button. It will come to a boil quickly, the machine will boil two minutes, then shut off, unless you shut it off manually before the two minutes is up. It will “beep” at two munites to alert you it is shutting off.

Yes in fact my wife only uses it to heat up water to make tea, coffee, hot chocolate and soups she doesn’’t make any of these in the kettle but heats up the water.
