• Yes, I would line the tub which is underneath the basket, with foil for easier clean up. The recipe book states that and also has recipes in there for battered shrimp recipe

• You can, as long as the batter has a strong consistency. The basket has many holes, so if any of the batter is dripping, then it will just fall off the fish/shrimp as it's frying.

• It is not recommended for battered shrimp or fish but I have used batter by dipping my battered fish in bread crumbs and shrimp in coconut.
